box turtle eating slugs

hello. i have a 12 yr old box turtle who recently started eating snails, and some small slugs. he found a big slug in my backyard and ate it and is acting a bit funny. anyone ever feed a box turtle slugs?

Slugs are natural food for turtles but they can also be infested with parasites. I strongly suggest a visit to the vet for a parasite check. And be sure he is tested for giardia

there's also a good chance that a slug found in your yard could be contaminated with pesticide, fertilizer, or other chemicals which could be picked up from any surrounding yard.
