i have a clutch that is hatching right now....usually the whole clutch is hatched out in a three day period. out of the 25 eggs due to hatch i've had 9 hatch in the last 7 days with 16 more to go. some of them haven't even began to callopse or shrivel up yet.

the hatching thing doesn't really bother me as much as what i saw yesterday. yesterday i had 2 babies hatch. one was the normal size of like 3 inches and the other was 1.5" thats right NOT EVEN 2"!!! I've never seen one so small before. It's eyes hardly even open. Has anyone ever seen or heard of abnormally small babies like this? It seems to be doing fine so far. I am scared to touch it, as it is so fragile.

maybe it's a midget, or should i say vertically, no, horizontially challenged.

I've seen small babies but never one that small! You should probably keep him in a cage by himself and keep him warm at night too, at least until he grows some. Keep us updated on his progress and we want pictures!! A mini beardie sounds cute.

I have a baby thats really small compared to the others. In fact its about half the size of its brothers and sisters but its doing just fine with the others. I keep a really close eye on all ten of my babies but I think my small one just has a short body compared to the others. I wouldn't worry to much about the eggs hatching since I had one that didn't hatch until two days after the ninth one hatched. It took all 10 of mine about a week to hatch but it was within the time period that it should have been so I wasn't worried. The last one that hatched out of mine is the best looking and the biggest, so sometimes it pays to wait.
