I think that Jodi of ground gecko freak and Marcia of golden gate geckos both have black eyed leos. If I recall correctly, Jodi was never able to get this trait to show in the offspring and Marcia got hers as a rescue.

it will be interesting to see if a pair that both have black eyes produce babies with them as well. needless to say, the mack snows have that trait.

the first hatchling i produced this season (and the first one ever) appears to have almost black eyes- i could only find the pupil slit the last time i inspected it (at 3 weeks). it's only a month old now. wish i could share pictures, but no camera. do you have any pics of your pair?

Blizzards often have at least partially black eyes, and I've heard of a fair number with completely black eyes.

It is something that pops up every now and then..... You see it more so in blizzards like Alice said.....

Unfortunatly, this trait does not prove out like a dominant, simple recessive, or codominant trait does.... It is very random....

kirkpatrick Jul 06, 2005 10:09 PM

From what I have heard, this is uaully random, however the two we found are siblings that are identical. they look like snows, but with a great deal of coloring and were bred from high yellow. What is strange about them is that they were born completely pink with black dorsal stripes. We hope that perhaps they will be the answer to the random black eye leopard geckos. I currently have no pictures of them, but will post when and if I get them.

You may have something! Both tremper's raptors and mack super snows have solid eyes and striped patterns...

It would be neat to see pics, and hopefully it proves out.
