So, my boyfriend met a Nigerian guy the other day. He told the guy that he has a uromastyx and his response was, "Why would you have one of those stupid lizards?" This of course sent my boyfriend into deep conversation about how his lizard is the best and so on. The guy still has family out there and says that they have all types of uros including the rare Sudanese. Apparently they're so common that uros are often used as slingshot targets by the little boys over there. 
He did say they get smart, run away and that you can find eggs quite easily by just diiging around in the ground. Anyways, my boyfriend told him how much the uros go for out here and the guy was amazed. He said he may have to start importing and selling juveniles, just as an easy side job. He told my boyfriend that if that were the case, he could have as many lizards as he wants. 
How cool, and we'll make sure it's done professionally.

i think that happens any where with little kids. i know green anoles are not a lot of money but it still cracks me up seeing them in pet stores since i grew up in south carolina and they are everywhere. the little boys there like to grab them by the tail to watch it fall off

yeah, they are everywhere here, too. My dad paid me $10 once to put them on my earslobes (bite not painful) and nose and let him take a picture. hehe, but i never like hurting them. Just caught them and rubbed their bellies until they were in this trance like state.
