Savannah Diet

I am thinking about purchasing a Savannah Monitor, but i am wary about feeding it mice, could put a monitor on a more insect diet??

Depends on the monitor. Some monitors will stay on an all insect diet throughout adulthood, others may reject insects and take only rodents. I think that you should be prepared to feed your savannah anything that is going to keep it healthy and happy before you get one. THey can eat frozen/thawed rodent doesn't have to be alive, if that's what you're squimish about.

True, 99% of the time your sav will take insects (esp. larger roaches) for it's entire life, just be prepared for the 1% of the time. You can't just give away if it start refusing insects.

It is best to feed a variety of foods. Mice, Chicks, Frozen Fish, Shrimp, turkey, Eggs, Etc. Keep them guessing and interested in meal time.
