Well, here are some ballpark answers. I don't have a burm, but I read and forum lurk a lot.

>>what is like an avg size in captivity for adult burms
Fully grown, between 13-20 ft. Longer has been recorded.

>>what size cage do you keep a full grown in
8 ft long is common, don't know other dimensions. Bigger if possible.

>>what are they eating like rabits
Youngsters get rats, big ones get rabbits.

>>how do you hold an adult burm
With at least one more person assisting you. Whenever the cage door is open, even to change water, get a level headed spotter to help and for safety.

>>how much do they normal weigh as adults.
I don't know. I've heard 45 lbs, but I'm sure it really really varies and goes higher for many adults.

Frankly, if you're leaning that way anyway, a rtb might be easier. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what the average size is...my male is about 11ft and my female is probobly at least 12.
Feeding rabbits can be kinda spendy depending on what your buying. I get them pretty cheap.
6-8ft cage depending on the size of the snake...eventually an 8ft for sure.
Here is a recent pic of my female...this is how i hold her.
She weighed 70 pounds a few weeks ago.
If you dont have room for this...go for the boa.

Jason, I like that. Puts things in perspective.

bc i was looking at sites before that i would be able to help some people out and adopt a boa from like a rescue or by a from a deal(probly will) and under snakes all i saw was like 1 boa with medical problems and like 5 burms and 1 rock. so i was like when im alble to take one and care for it then ill get one

and plus when i go to college im gunna take what i can withmme (probly my bds and my snakes) and what i cant im gunna be doing a vet program next yr inmmy school and they are always looking for new animals and they have a 9 ft burm who ios like a big baby. and i also helped them breed ther beadrded dragons(bds) and they thanked me.

so for all of you with big burms see you soon(LIKE 5-10 YRS)(soon to me im only 15)

and thanks

you gotta love to see a teenager take this kind of care BEFORE he makes a commitment to purchase a burm. I hope you make an excellent vet. Hats off!
