I'll stop lurking and show off a little -- this morning's pics

My clutch of Sumatran short tail eggs from 05.09 pipped overnight. I am definitely happy with the way things look! There were 26 eggs laid, one went bad within a week. The rest stayed good and it looks like they all pipped. That's the best success rate I've ever had on a large clutch. I'll probably window them tonight, but until then will be searching the closets for shoeboxes -- I' m going to have quite a few babies to set up!

The ones I see look like they'll be chrome or black headed. The male has an orange head, so there will be some of each -- at least there was last year.

It is always so incredible to see reptiles hatch, and to be part of the process. Especially great snakes like bloods!
I honestly believe that the people who buy bloods have, as a rule, already acquired a good bit of reptile knowledge and get these because they want a blood python, not just because it is "cool" to have a snake. Well, I'm starting to ramble, thanks for looking.

Congrats, that certainly was a nice sized clutch for sure, can't wait to see pics of them after they decide to come out of their eggs.

...just KILLER! 25 eggs hatching is too cool. I'm still biting my nails on the next 19 in my clutch hatching right now (Borneo's).

Great work!

Matt
p.s. - I did myself a BIG favor and bought a four of the BARRS 10-hole shoebox racks. It made keeping babies a breeze last season. I HIGHLY recommend it.
