some of you might have noticed my absence in the past week and a half, it was because i took a trip to florida with 2 buddies as a graduation present from my parents. we hit the keys, the everglades, and ocala, then our last site was in SC as we headed home. the diamondbacks, indigos, and corals all evaded us on this trip, but we saw a ton of other snakes and lizards. quite a few firsts for me, and i had a blast. i was worried sick about my geckos while i was gone (i hate leaving them in other peoples' care), but they were all in good shape by the time i got back. also found out i have 2 more female satanics laying now, but all are infertile. maybe that will change, im thinking of rotating the males around to peak their activity with the females. i also came home to find out that one of my crested females managed to lay her first fertile clutch without me noticing, as i found a pair of babies hanging around with the adults. luckily no one was hungry enough to make a snack out of them. i would say the highlight of the trip was catching 2 burmese pythons in the everglades in a single night while roadcruising. i would have thought we'd find a diamondback before coming across those, and furthermore, we stopped and talked to one of the park rangers who said he stopped to shoot 2 other burms that he noticed while he was out the very same night! oh man, it was one hell of a trip. but anyway, ill be posting pics in the field herping forum later, ill post a link to it after i write it up. im skeptical about revealing some of the sites, though, because i know that there are people out there who arent just herpers, but collectors, and id like to be able to go back to some of these places in the future and be able to find more.
good to be back, and i see i have a lot of reading to catch up on! also, a tad of good news, that hatchling that dropped its tail is still doing great. i was very nervous about her doing that just a few days before my long trip, but evidently my roommate has learned more from me about keeping these geckos in good health than i realized! glad to get other people into the hobby!

can't wait to see the awesome pics you speak of they better be good, hehehehe LOL
