EYES SHUT TIGHT

RIFTLAKE Jul 06, 2005 05:00 PM

HI GROUP,GOT A RESCUE DRAGON AND ITS EYES SEEM TO BE CLOSED ALL THE TIME. THE HOME SHE CAME FROM SEEMED TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF HER,HAD ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. UV LITE,SUPPLEMENTS,LIVE FOOD AND A VARIED DIET. SHE JUST LAID 18 EGGS AND IT SEEMED TO TAKE A LOT OUT OF HER THEY SAID. THEY WERE MOVING AND WANTED TO FIND HER A GOOD HOME. SHE WAS VERY LATHARGIC AND SKINNY WHEN I GOT HER A FEW DAYS AGO. I PUT HER IN A QUARINTINE CAGE OUTSIDE AND THOUGHT SHE LOOKED DEHYDRATED. SO I SPRAYED HER GENTLY WITH A HOSE AND SHE DRANK LIKE A HORSE ,SEEMED TO FILL OUT ALMOST IMMEDIATLY. DID THE SAME THING THE NEXT DAY,SHE DRANK ALOT AND LOOKS MUCH BETTER. HAVE NOT SEEN HER EAT AND HER EYES ARE STILL SHUT----ANY SUGGESTIONS. THANK SCOTT

Best thing to do, is take her to a vet. her eyes could be infected and sealed shut due to gunk in it, injured from either substrate, another dragon etc. A vet will be able to flush the eyes and inspect for diseases, injury etc. Also it will be a good ideal to bring a fresh poop sample for a fecal as well.
