Man Jumps Down Off Tree Limb To Grab Gator

Great forum here.
Just wanted to post this local news clip.
Same old thing.
This seems to be the size of gator most frequently dumped.
I'm glad the people who post here seem to be responsible and know what they're getting into.
Keep up the good advise so incidents like this don't give all reptile keepers a bad name.
And if you only have a passing interest in reptiles: PLEASE DON'T BUY AN ALLIGATOR.

Thanks, JPH

JPH,

I take it you are in Ohio, correct? If so, where at? I reside in Columbus as well. What crocs do you keep?

Best Wishes,

Chris

Another small step (along w/ the guy bitten by Rhino Viper) closer to us losing the ability to freely own crocdilians (exotics) here in Ohio. As I check different state laws as I plan to move south soon, I realize how good we have it here. Uhh.... except the climate absolutely sucks.

I think people who sell crocodilians should provide a card w/ a number of where they can take these animals as opposed to dumping them in fields, lakes or streams. Perhaps unrealistic. Years ago someone dumped one in Mirror Lake at the heart of Ohio State campus. I though we were all done for after that.

Hope everyone is well.

Absolutely!

I am working on trying to get people together. It is time that the herp community starts to police itself! If we continue to allow people so easily into our hobby, we are only going to drag ourselves down. Everyone has a right to try to keep what they would like. I just dont feel that it should be at the expense of others who truly mean well for the hobby and dedicate their lives to it.
