Hey ace! Beautiful snake, where are you from, Oregon? They have state laws about keeping those gorgeous snakes as pets, don't they?? I would consider myself a lucky, lucky woman to have a snake that pretty. Does anybody here breed any w/ that sort of silvery sheen? I would totally invest in one.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I actually don't keep these snakes as pets, I just find them in my yard, but after finding that blue/siver morph I think I need to keep a pair. By the way I'm from western Washington, and I don't know the laws here about keeping them, If anyone knows how to find out please let me know!

I think Washington has some pretty restrictive laws concerning keeping natives. You might want to start by looking at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website. If you can't find the info there, such sites usually provide a means for getting in touch with people in the know.

Washington is very strict. It is illegal in Washington state to collect or posses any native occurring species (regardless of the actual source of the animal) without a scientific research permit (given only to scientific institutions). All commercial activity with species that occur in the state is also illegal.

Dang, that pretty much stinks. Guess all just have to stick to photographing these buggers. Good thing there not many reptile species in western WA.
