Too good to be true?

Hey guys,
Generally I stick to the boa forum but this is a question only you can answer. I don't deal in lizards but gilas have always been on my want list.I've got a kid wanting to trade me a gila for a hypo boa. He claims to have documentation for it and it is entirely legal. Why would you trade me a $1200 animal for a $400 animal tops.(although I do come across those deals from time to time, usually it's not an animal I'd even have a question about)I would usually jump on the deal but I'd rather not get shut down, fined, etc. What types of paperwork am I looking for is there a sure fire way I can cover my ass here. I've got a sneaking suspicion it's a wc animal but I haven't seen it or the paperwork in question.
Thanx in advance,
Steve

...probably....

You need to obtain a proper notarized bill of sale asserting his ownership & its legal status where he is. The origins before his possession are not required (desireable but not required).
Then he needs to ship it sanely & legally. You lastly need to be legal to possess it on your end. I'd include language in any bill of sale that the monitor is healthy & specifically not wheezing/coughing nor regurgitating.

Id be looking for the ripoff angle on an asymmetrical deal like this one in any case. Goodluck w/ it.

The animal in the photograph of the H.horridum, looks to be a field pic of a dead wild animal. Also it apears to be H.h.exasperatum. Just curious.
Thanks,

Hiya Steve, yes thats a DoR from Alamos Sonora...my 1st & only beaded in the field & some numbskull campesinos had to run it over..what a pity.
Im delighted you have such a productive program going on. Im happy the Heloderms have escaped the stranglehold of Govt & academia & are now available to the somewhat wealthy public.
It'll be interesting to see over the next 20 years what happens to the supply/demand...
