My new ball

huntsville Jul 07, 2005 07:33 AM

I've been working on this for some time, trying to get a pure, bright color with no blushing or mottling. I bred my un-named desert-appearing pastel male to another un-named brown-and-yellow pastel female of some sort, both wild caught animals with no lineage information. Here is what I got, he's a male; and I also have a female, plus one that looks like the mother. One normal in the clutch of four. I also bred him to a pied and hope for nice offspring. He produced two litters last year, proved co-dom; but this "blend" is what I've been trying for. Let me know what you think. I can't wait to breed him into genetic stripes, pins, pieds and clowns. Grow up, little man!

Here's you a female to match him up with. I've been drooling over this snake for some time now. Looks pretty similar to yours so I'll tip you off.

Way to go, that thing is stunning. Nice clean lines, a pattern on crack, and a nice full eye stripe.

VERY, VERY nice.

Both parents are african imports? Is this a pure ball python? Could you please post pics of the parents? Do you have pics of the siblings as well? Very stunning colors.

Very excellent standards to breed towards a goal rather than sell the first thing that popped out. I commend you. Your efforts speak for themselves. I am blown away. You have my vote for Best New Morph.

Thank you all for the accolades. I will post more pics when he sheds, and of the parents, and of the sibs. He's just two days old, so it will be a while.

I can't believe it even when I'm looking at him. Whew!

Thanks again all.
