UV Lighting

l_l3lackwolf_l Jul 07, 2005 08:16 AM

Is it absolutely necesary for BTs to have UVB/UVA lighting? All my monitors have em but my BT´s suddenlly had a dead electric flow, so its without any UV light, until i get to someone to fix it, which will probably take long (grrr). He does have a heating light that is right on top of a piece of rock that i found outside. And he seems to be excrementing and digesting fine without the UV. But just wondering if its very important to have it like NOW?
Cheers,
Sheri

No they don't need it, ever. All they need is a selection of temperature sources. From 70F to about 135F, with that, no lite is needed, althought for your sake, you can provide them with a lite. Also lites are a source of heat thats easily controlled and easily obtained. But it does not need to be UVA or B, Good luck, FR
