DON'T house them together. Believe me on this one I should know since my pair came together in the same tank. By the time I found out that my two weren't the same sex it was to late and now I have 10 babies earlier than I ever expected or wanted. True it was my fault because I had no idea what I was doing when I took my pair in but at least you'll have fair warning before you put your female at risk.

First thank you for asking....it's an obvious sign that you care. DO NOT, house your male and female together. Take them out, let them breed, then seperate them. Housing a male and female is too stressful for her. He will breed with her over and over and that is not healthy for her and the babies. Her eggs will be smaller and unhealthy with repeated breedings. The stress is too great. Could you imagine being stuck in a cage with an animal wanting to breed with you all the time? Ugh....

to build like a big cage about 5 ft long by 3 wide by 2 high and house to females together if they get along, then make like a lil door and have a built on part for the male an when breeding time comes have them have like a 7 ft cage all to them selfs to breed and interact then put the male in ihis own when done, and let the females live toigether

thanks for your help
