Bran dust

chris50 Jul 15, 2003 11:08 AM

hi
my beardie is on bran substrate, which he likes, and from what I have heard is a good substrate to use. However, the bran is rather dusty, and the dust gets everywhere in the vivarium-its not that heavy, but there is a light sprinkling of bran dust everywhere. I am concerned that he could inhale this dust and end up with respiritory problems, although there is no problem currently. Is the bran dust likely to cause any problem in his lungs, or is it harmless, as it would only build up over a long time, and I would have thought his lungs would clean themselves much faster than it would build up.
Does anyone know if this is harmles, or something to be concerned about?

thanks
Chris

it should be fine, buy the higher quality stuff, less dust. But my dragons have been on it with no problems, one for 2 years and shes just fine.
