Studies In Blue...

The chameleons were out today... exposed to long, gentle rain, and temperatures in the low eighties. It's almost 5:00pm and the rain continues. Earlier, while I checked on all of them, I decided to take a few photos of my favorite male Mt. Meru Jackson's. It was interesting to see how quickly it changed colors as we went inside the house.

Enjoy.

Hi Lele,

Thanks for the note. Sorry to hear about Luna. Are you planning on acquiring any more chameleons?

Just wondering but, depending on where you live, could it be bad to take chameleons out in the rain with the acid rain and such?

all2human Jul 07, 2005 09:45 PM

(Thanks Eve...)

And regarding "acid rain," I do not know whether this region of Texas receives low pH rain, but I have kept C. calypratus during the early summer outside, and some of my other lizards (like my Crotaphytus) stay out most of the year. The Mt. Merus only come out when the weather allows, and they don't seem to mind exposure to the rain. In fact, they "seem" to prefer that as opposed to my daily misting.

I would also imagine that it would take a lot of "acidic" rain to affect the animals.

Regards,

Fabian
