Here's my new girl named Tempest. She's a Sarong type from Franz's Herpetological. A very mellow gal who basically hung out on my hand when I went to put her in her new viv.

I almost got a Wamena from them, but got talked out of it on the advice of about 20 people on another forum. I would love it if you would keep me updated on its progress in weight gain and health.
I am not saying that you made a bad decision. I am interested in weather I made a poor one.
Well, so far, I haven't been dissapointed. I checked him out on the BOI and there were only positive things there. The snake arrived in excellent condition, she's already pooped to christen the new viv, and is quite active after dark. She's exactly as he advertised her, mellow, mellow, and has a wonderful pattern. I will be feeding for the first time tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes. Troy will also be providing me with a certificate to show that she is domestic, captive bred and not an import. I know there isn't proof that he's not just making it up, but he has been very honest so far about the animal, and has been very helpful answering my myriad of questions. I've been more than satisfied.
Im glad its working out for you. Thanks for the response.
the reason you were probably talked out of it is because they were trying to protect you form potentually being runied in the hobby... their are alot of people out their selling snakes saying they are CB... but in reality alot of them are not...
their is nothing worse then starting a hobby and getting a snake that has tons of problems because its WC... or spending $500 and having it die in 1 month...
it is always best to start out with a CB snake that comes from a good breeder... the breeders are vary helpful and guarantee the snake is eating great before you buy it...
after you have been in the hobby for a few years its not so bad to get a import because you are more prepaired to handle the potential problems. and of course treating a snake for internal parasites is not the task a beginer to any hobby should have to do... its always best to know its an import and not be suprised...
i know some of the guys treat a snake when they get it regardless....
i am glad you snake is working out for you... i hope she has a long happy life with you...

Well, she ate without a problem last Sunday, and I took her out and held her yesterday. She's very good tempered and seems to be active and healthy. She's eating small adult mice, so I figure if she's eating that size, she's grown large enough to have had more than a few meals. Greg's book recommends at least 12 feedings, and at a year old, she's definitely eaten at least that much. I certainly can't complain at either the quality, or service at this point.
