preferred brand of thermostat and under tank heating pad

funky_r_monkey Jul 07, 2005 06:47 PM

Hey. I'm looking for suggestions on what brand of undertank heating pad and thermostat most of you would recommend for my new ball. The guy I bought him from is using a heat rock, which I'd like to toss asap. I'd like to have a set up where I can set the heat to stay at a certain temp. Also, would the pad have any effect on the kind of substrate I can use? the tank has a plexiglass bottom...

Will I need to pair the heating pad with a heat lamp?

Thanks for all your help!

Ray

I use flex watt, on Ranco thermostats for UTH

others prefer proportional thermostats, but my temps never vary by more than a few degrees so I'm happy with my Ranco's.

as far as needing supplemental heating, it depends on what you are using for a tank.
