stroker Jul 07, 2005 09:04 PM

Someone on another forum said RETFs are toxic, is this true? I never thought they were.

Alot of treefrogs produce a skin secreation that is designed to make them taste bad to predators in the wild. This secretion can also be an irritant and/or toxic. This is why you should handle frogs with gloves and also why red eyes would not make good tank mates for other animals (amongst other reasons).

Dont worry about it unless you, your children or your other pets plan on eating the RETF
