Veiled Chameleon eggs

jtjreptiles Jul 07, 2005 11:36 PM

I just had a female drop 18 eggs tonight... The problem is, she was last with a male back in feb. Is that even possible?

I heard that they can hold sperm up to 100 days after copulation. Is that true too?

Any info would be appreciated, Jon

Yes, it's true. You can get a couple clutches off just one breeding. I had a female that would not breed again after she'd laid a clutch of 52. She started getting lumpy again and five months later laid a clutch of 56 eggs.
18 eggs for you? She must be a first time Mom.
Hope this helps,
Cricket
