We are in the Florida Panhandle. Hurricane Dennis is projected to land here as a category 3 hurricane. This area is still recovering from Ivan (cat. 3) last September. People are SCARED and almost panicking.
We are trying to secure a rental car to evacuate (the vehicles we own won't make it out of town). There are 5 people in our family, as well as 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 hamsters, 2 bearded dragons, 2 corn snakes, and 16 EGGS (layed only a week ago) in the homemade incubator. Having that many pets makes evacuating very difficult. Last year during Ivan my husband stayed at the house to take care of the animals while he sent me and the kids to my sister's house (more inland and brick).
My husband says we will have to leave the snakes here in their den (I would rather not). I am not sure what to do about the eggs. The area may be without power for several days.
Any supportive ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Deanna

Put them in the pillowcases and fold over the opening and secure it with a rubberband and they should be all set. As for the eggs I would leave them alone. They are probably better off sitting still in a storm than being transported all over the place.
