How important is it that she sees a vet?

Normally I take any new lizard I get to the vet for a fecal and a checkup as soon as possible. However, seeing as I am just fostering Nova and she was a bit unexpected this was not the case with her. How important is it for an Iguana to get a post egg laying checkup? Do complications with health arise often? She seems healthy; she's active, alert and eating.

I would have a vet check her. Some give extra calcium but more importantly to make sure she has laid all eggs and there are no complications from that. PLUS since she is bring adopted it would be great for a new owner to know that she has a clean bill of health or if she is sick knowing that she is sick and knowing what knd of care she needs

The one that I just got from the shelter I chose to have checked out just to be safe. Esp when they are prone to metabolic Bone disease and such. I wanted to make sure all was well also because of having other reptiles I didn't want anything to spread (like worms, or parasites).

She is a bute! (but looking more and more male to me! LOL)

Awsome pics

I'm fairly sure she is female since she just laid 22 eggs =). I agree though, the orange coloration and long spikes are usually male characterstics. Her head is small however.
