I have a desert box turtle T.o. luteola. Currently the substrate I am using is a mixture of natural top soil, organic peat moss and sanitized play sand. It seems to dry up too much and I have to constantly add some water to keep it somewhat moistened otherwise it would be bone dry(it is an indoor enclosure). I also mist every day. Temporarily I am using a 65 gallon reptarium to house the box turtle while I am building an indoor enclosure out of wood. The turtle seems not to be effected by it because i soak it everyday anyway. I was just wondering what everyone else might be using as a substrate. Maybe there is an easier way. Well anybodies response would be appreciated.
