Brazil herp guides?

billysbrown Jul 08, 2005 10:56 AM

Hello,

I will be going to Brazil in November, and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for reading before I go. I know very little about Brazilian herps, and would appreciate ideas for books so I know what I'm looking at when I get there. I am fluent in Spanish and can read Portuguese okay, so feel free to recommend books in those languages as well as in English.

Thanks!
Billy

on the Amazon area in general.
It is titled "Reptiles and Amphibians of the Amazon--An Ecotourist's Guide" by R.D. and Patricia Bartlett. Published in 2003 by University Press of Florida.
The book is filled with color photos of most of the herps you will find in the Amazon region.
I am sure that it would of use in Brazil.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always depressed by the general lack of reptile guidebooks for Latin America, and this one looks good.
