incubation problem?

gavinclews Jul 08, 2005 11:50 AM

I have 33 eggs in the incubator that are coming up to 52 days. They are due to hatch around the 20th, or so i thought. Anyway, i have had no problem with the eggs until now but over the last day a couple of them have started leaking. I know all about hatching and eggs sweating etc... but these shouldnt be hatching yet. What could be the problem? Its only doing it on a couple of them. There is like a droplet of water on one side of the egg and i have cleaned it off but it just leaks again.
Just wondered if anyone had come across anything like this before

Sometimes they can hatch as soon as 45 days. Also some babies can die before they go full term just because they have some kind of defect. Those eggs that die prematurely sometimes get soggy first and then just collapse and rot. I hope they are just hatching for you. If your temps were higher they may be hatching lready.
good luck!

Out of the 11 eggs I was incubating I had one die about a week before the rest of them hatched so that might be whats happening to yours but my egg just collapsed and didn't leak. How long have the eggs been leaking? If its been more than a day I don't know what to tell you because all my babies hatched within a days time, actually they started hatching a day earlier than they were supposed to.

Hi, my temps are ok i always incubate my eggs at 81 - 82 so that if temps do change then it doesnt go too high and it gives me a bit to play with. They are currently at about 82. Not sure, the eggs all look good and all that so we shall have to see
