Caging for venomous

goini04 Jul 08, 2005 01:58 PM

Hey all,

I am just wondering if anyone has any "self-made" cages for their venomous? I have seen alot of different factory bought cages, and neodesha cages. I was wondering if their was a certain protocol that others in here follow when possibly building a cage for their venomous snakes as compared to ssaaayy a large constrictor? I know that venomous snakes have to be taken seriously in caging and the possibility of escape must be reduced to numero uno. Just getting some ideas on caging and stuff. I dont have any intentions of purchasing any venomous (at least anytime soon), but I just want to get some caging ideas.

Thanks,

Chris

P.S. pictures would be fantastic if you have them. I LOVE PICTURES, of your all's animals!!

Here are a few cages in my hot room. The Bookshelf cage on the left is the only one I kind of built. I added a 1/4" plywood back to it, some lights, and a lock on each side of each door. I can open and close the doors safely with 2 hooks. Each cage is roughly 24"X12"X16". As for a super looking cage, I get more compliments on this unit then any other. But most visitors to my hot room like the double caged units the best to ease there own fear factors. LOL Billy
