Storeria occipitomaculata or dekayi?

Kevin Saunders Jul 08, 2005 02:37 PM

My dad found this small snake today and I thought it was a northern brown. Upon closer inspection, it has a reddish orange belly and the neck band is broken into the 3 spots typical of a redbelly. I'm almost positive it is a redbelly, but I just wanted to get some opinions on here to be sure. Thanks.

DEFINITELY a red belly.
My all time favorite snake. Very nostalgic for me. I lived on a farm as a younging and these guys where EVERYWHERE.

I wish I knew how to keep them...I'd love to do some sort of breeding project.
