Post shed Picture of a Motley het T Positive Albino.....

Amanda_Burke Jul 08, 2005 04:07 PM

Last week, we learned that the Motley mother of these babies is 1/2 Colombian (but from the CA line of Motleys), making these babies 1/4 Colombian. I was kinda bummed to find that out because it wasn't necessarily the direction we wanted to take the T Positive Nics in right now, BUT I have to say that looking at these babies makes it hard to stay disappointed for long!! lol Even though they aren't exactly what we thought, these babies did turn out to be sooo beautiful and I am looking forward to watching them grow and develop.
This little one is probably my favorite. I love his contrast and velvety appearance! The first picture is out of focus but I liked it because it shows his colors well. The second picture is of him too, just spread out.

Thanks for looking!

I may be able to help here. It is kind of dissapointing about the Colombian influence though, last week I inquired about getting a male het from the litter. Amanda told me that they had just found out the babies were 1/4 Colombian.

Anyway, C.A. motleys tend to be darker and have much less contrast. Both factors of natural C.A. phenotypes. One difference though is that the C.A. Motleys tail blotches seem not to connect, but the Colombian Motleys have fully connecting patterns (Of course there are exceptions, but as far as I know this has held true with C.A.).

I hope I was able to help, Amanda if you get a break from your studies I am sure you do a better job. Or Alex from Boa Republic?

There are the obvious differences between the size and shape of the body and head, and scalation, although these babies tend to look more like the Centrals in that way. Generally though, the Motley's that I've seen all tend to have their own unique looks, but one thing I've noticed is that many CA Motley's have reverse striping...that isn't something I've really seen in the Colombian Motley's too much. Then again, we only have one of those right now (Colombian Motleys) so I'm mostly going from pictures that I've seen. All of the baby Motleys in the litter we just had have more of a traditional Motley pattern, though, not the reverse striping. I think the biggest difference though, between the CA and Colombian Motley's lies in the Super form...the Colombian Motley's have the purple patternless super, while the CA Motleys have the solid Black Boa as a super. Both very cool. Since our babies come from the Central American line of Motley, I would expect them to have the Black Super, even though they have the Colombian influence. We'll see! Hope this helps!
