makeda's poop - orange

lele Jul 15, 2003 12:29 PM

Hi,

Makeda is eyeballing a cricket and mealie in a cup so I am hoping she will eat. I actually found poop on a leaf and it has to be hers b/c I separated her from the others. The urate is cream colored, but the other is salmon color and not real firm, not real runny either. What does this color mean? I know it has been covered before but can't find posts. Thanks

Now I think you found your problem!! In larger Chams, this is a sign of dehydration. Get fluids to her, and mayby someone else can come up with a reason this is happening, as your others are doing OK. Don't take this for as positivly certain, as I have no experiance with "little guys". Pedialite mayby?
Good luck!!

Thanks! I have tried to get her to drink and she just won't. I gave her a warm misting this morning to at least try and keep her body moist. I wonder if there is a good article with poop health!

Well, you have been here long enought to know the folks who have these chams,I think I'd Ph. call to them and ask for advice on how to 'force' some fluids, how much and how often, what type fluids as they probably have a magic formula. with this being such a small guy, I would not wait the time it can sometimes take to get info here, even as good as they all can be. I saw a site for emergency rehyd. If I can find it, I'll post it for you

same site one stnman gave me! I sent a pic of the poop to Liddy and she said it was OK (posted in gallery under lele if you're interested LOL!)

She is not doing any worse but not better either. She has everything a girl cham could ask for - including a doting Mom! She has been eyeballing food so I am hopeful and her color is good. Hey, if it turns out she is gravid after all I will know for the next time!

thanks again,
lele

mine has cream colored once in a while just thought i'ld check JK

here's the photo of her poop. Liddy Kammer (breeder I purchased from) said that the coloring was OK. The urates are cream and the "poop" is salmon colored. She doesn't think it in itself is a symptom of illness.

Nothing makes lunch set any better, than a good ole picture of poop.
I love that about this forum. No cutsie pictures of babies eating birthday cake.. we got poop!

Do they eat fruit flies? My baby veileds pooped like this when they ate fruit flies.

lele Jul 16, 2003 08:53 PM

Yes, they do! I wonder if it is from their RED eyes! LOL!

This poop was from Makeda (the gravid or sick one) and I had not seen any with this color when they were all together, but Liddy (Kammer) assured me it was OK. So thanks for the info!
