My beardie....

Bish Jul 08, 2005 07:00 PM

My beardie that I got about 1 month ago has not been eating as well since he shed about a week ago. He is just about 4 months old and is probably 9 or 10 inches long, maybe more. He has been eating veggies better and crickets less, but still not as much as usuall. He does not seem to be losing any wait and is just as active! Do you guys know what is going on? It has got me stumped. Very soon I am moving him into his 55 or 75 gallon aquarium. Thanks for your help.

Sorry about the picture I accidently added it. It is of my garter snake. Sorry again.

What are his temps, high low and ambient? What types of supplements do you use and how often? Do you have a UVB light?

If his temps are too low he may not want to eat as much, that would be the first thing to check. Also, i would get a good digital scale so you can keep track of his weight and then you will be able to catch any weight loss before it gets to drastic.

I sound like a broken record here, but i would also take a fecal sample to the vet just in case. Running fecals routinely should be part of your husbandry anyway, so even if nothing is wrong its a good idea!

His hi temps are between 97 and 103, low about 84, I am not sure what ambient is? I use a calcium/phosphorus supplement every day. I am going to get a scale and go to the vet for a check up!

Awesome, a good bill of health from the vet is always a good thing to put your mind at ease
