Can different food types affect pigment in beardies?

I've noticed that when i feed my beardie just like lettuce and dark greens that his coloration is darker but when i feed him carrots and lighter colored veggies his color is lighter more tan and orangey. Has anyone else noticed this with their dragons?

im not sure but maybe he perfer's the lighter veggies then the dark ? but i may be wrong lol
