Head rubbing and yawning?

rangersplash Jul 08, 2005 11:26 PM

Thank you in advance to anyone that can inform me here.
I've had my Ball for just under a month,I won't get into the feeding problems...But She does seem to like to rub against things in her tank like she's itching her head, her eyes are still nice and black so I don't think it's a shedding thing???
The other question is she seems to "yawn" a bit,she has not eaten since I've had her so I don't think it's a "jaw re-aligning" thing. Is there a reason for this or is it just something they do.
If this helps she is fairly young..18"-24" probably closer to 24"

i would of went with the shedding part until you mentioned it , but i wouldnt worry . iv had my 2 for 8 years now and they both do it, even when they havent had a feed in over a week i still see them doing it for time to time . aslong as your python doesnt apear to be gaping for air then i wouldnt worry about it. the head rubbing may just be a sign that it wants to be out especially if your viv is too small or if its a new viv. and reptiles dont see glass very well hope this helps.
