Tri-Color Hognose Snakes...

Doug89 Jul 08, 2005 11:51 PM

Just wondering about their care and maintenance. was interested in getting one in the future and wanted some basic info on them (lifespan, size, etc.) Any websites would also be appreciated. What do you guys think of western hognoses also? Thanks!

We have been keeping them for a little over 2 years and we keep them just like we have kept western hogs, so if you can't find specifics on the tri coloreds, look up westerns and go from there. They are a fairly small snake...Between 2 and 3 feet for females. They say males are on the smaller side of that, but ours is about half the size of the females, and girth is probably 1/3!! We have about 40 eggs in the incubator now, with some due to hatch any day...CAN'T WAIT!!

Good luck,
MIKE
