stupid black rat question...

just couldn't remember if black rats are nocturnal or diurnal..... I know stupid question....

Not a stupid question at all!

Black rats are both. During cool weather they are more diurnal than nocturnal, but during hot summer heat they are generally active either at night or in the morning before the day's heat sets in. However, even during hot summer days you can still find them napping on a branch or in shady undergrowth or in the gardens of terrified neighbors.

So they do what they please whenever they please.

i have found they are generally more active in the low light hours but that can vary with weather conditions.

They mainly move early morning and late in the evening then at night ..
