recently laid eggs

I saw one of my Easterns laying eggs about a week ago. Is it normal to lay this late? When should I expect hatchlings?

This would not be considered particularly late: it may be the second clutch for that female. One of ours, in fact, laid 3 more eggs just a couple of days ago.
If you're going to leave them in the ground, it won't be possible to predict (with any accuracy) when they'll emerge.
Aside from temperatures affecting the duration of incubation, there's no way of knowing how long the hatchlings will remain in the nest after hatching.
