Brian, might that be a Ky. corn? As far as how to tell, I can't by looks, I just took a guess that this one is from you home state. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Ky corns average a lower blotch count then other localities? Seems like I may have read that from somewhere. Maybe Phil, or Will Bird, or from one of their articles on the ky. herp society page. Anyway, that is a good looking corn. And if I've said it once, I'll say it again, your other ky. corn "Warpath" is one of the best looking natural corns I've ever seen. If you ever get any Ky. locality offspring from him, put me on your list.

Yep it is KY locale. The KY corns do have a lower blotch count. The majority of the KY corns have a gray overcast to the last 1/2 to 2/3 of the body, much like the prairie kings here.
I havent sexed this one yet and dont know if I will breed them or not. If I did, it would be for fun and would more than likely just give the offspring away.
If this one turns out to be female, it would be probably 2 years before she would be big enough to breed.
Thanks for the compliments!
Brian

Hi All,
Our Louisiana corns (east of the Mississippi)also have lower blotch counts. They are almost always between 25 and 30. They also often have the grey wash on the posterior 1/3 of the body, but have a lot of orangeish yellow wash on the lateral blotches and sides of the body. By contrast, slowinskii from about 50 miles west, often have 35 or more blotches which are transversly elongated. I will try and get some pics if anyone is interested.
