This is a couple of pics of a large 5.5 foot gravid female I found near an abandoned house of a main highway in Sampson county NC. As far as I can remember it is the largest female ratsnake I ever found here in NC. It is an intergrade (black rat/yellowrat), looking almost greenish/bluish gray in color. . . Currently counted about 20 lumps (eggs) in her. Should be laying them any day now. . .

Great snake i just had a nice weekend in Ashboro north carolina finding yellow and black rats.. and 1 intergrade, one of the black rats was 7.2 inches! it was huge and the rest in the 4 foot range and i caught a canebrake rattler and a eastern king about 18 inches long but very awesome...
That's good stuff! You actually have some yellows' in Ashboro? How about a pic of that eastern?

Yeah i see them all the time when i go up and stay with my uncle , there is four old chicken houses and i see intergrades all the time there and 2 yellows with the 4 stripes.I thought it was to north also but i guess not lol.. i have seen to many but there are alot of black rats also. i will get pic of the eastern i need to go get a battery for my new camera though first lol..
