Im looking for something good in an aquatic terrarium. I dont have much experience with water snakes though. Would you recommend another species? Thanks for any responses.

There are plenty of more experienced keepers out there than me and I am a bit biased since I really keep only one species for any length of time.
That all said, if you can get your hands on a mangrove salt marsh snake I think you would be pleased.
I would caution however to be watchful of ANY snake you might be keeping in a semi-aquatic enclosure. Some snakes it seems will just stay too wet if given the chance and end up suffering skin problems.
Like I said, there are those on these forums that know just what you need to do to keep your watersnake happy.
Good luck.

Mark you hit the nail right on the head. I have only ever had one mangrove (son to change) , but it is awesome. they are very curious and jsut have a great personality. they don't get big, and look great and feed great and are always checking you out. I would also caution against a terrarium for watersnakes, at least when beggining with them because of the blisters. you can go to http://www.freewebs.com/mikesnake/garterswaters.htm fro a go care sheet. If you can't get a mangorve then get something liek a banded, midland, or Fl water. they are all great.
