anybody know if this is a monitor?

afarinos Jul 09, 2005 03:24 PM

hi everyone - we found this guy on our porch and think it may be a monitor, but really have no idea. he buried himself under the sand, which made the pet store lady say it might be. when he stands up, his tail curls forward. can anyone tell me what he is? here is a pic.

thanks!

Actually it looks like a curlytail to me. It has been 22 years since I had a curlytail so I might be wrong, but that is what came to mind when I saw that picture. Mine always buried himself in the sand and was a great little lizard. In fact, now that I am reminiscing, I want a curlytail, even if that is not what that lizard is. lol. THANKS!

Hi Bloodbat -
Yup, it looks like a curly-tail to me too - Wonderful little lizards aren't they! I loved having those live with me - maybe I should get some too....
