Now this is a touchy subject.

I house all of my snakes individually EXCEPT for a 1.1 pair of BP'. All the other snake (including my other BP's) are in seperate cages.

The 1.1 pair I have together is very odd.

The male is very agressive if the female is not in the cage. The female will go off feed if not housed with the male.

It's just plain weird.

I have ended up keeping them together ever since they first bred 2 years ago. Prior to that they were seperated. When I seperated them after she was gravid the male became downright nasty and refused all food for almost 8 months. After she laid the egss, she was off feed as well. Just for the hell of it, I put them back together. I wanted to disprove the theory of my brother in law that they missed each other. You know what? The idea he had (that I told him was stupid) actually seems to have worked. I don't really think they missed each other but they act and eat so much better when together versus being seperated. The male is now calm once again, eats regularly, and the female ate again the second day after being placed back with him and both feed regularly once again.

I know this sounds strange and none of my other snakes act this way but IMO and from this wacky pair, you cannot always go wth the "keep them seperate" blanket strategy.

In 99% of the time, seperate is best but keep in mind there may be the one time funky pair of snakes that don't conform to the rules.
