using a temp gun, what temp do you get your frozen rats to

mistysprouse Jul 09, 2005 07:02 PM

sometimes I get the right temp and they eat the frozen ones sometimes I don't, I just wondered if there is a rule of thumb most of you find work. I generally place the rats under a 150 watt bulb to get them the final push to being warm.

why not just move them from the freezer to the fridge until they defrost,,,then let them sit out until they are room temperature

mistysprouse Jul 09, 2005 08:11 PM

they don't generally recognize them as food at room temp (which here is 79/80, and that is how I defrost them generally or I use the hot water bath.

I generally warm them up to about their normal (live) body temperature 98 degrees.
