question about eggs

kinglover Jul 09, 2005 10:20 PM

i just thought of something, once a snake lays her eggs, does she sit on them, or does she lay them and go away? if she sits there, i guess the only way to get the eggs is to get bitten lol

Most female will lay them and leave them. Sometimes you'll have a straggler that wants to sit there for a day or so, but I've never been bitten pulling eggs......even with some more supposedly nasty species of snakes. They're kind of like gators and go into a trance while laying, not to mention, they've just spent a tremendous amount of energy. They seem to focus all of their attention on getting the eggs out.
