Curious to things in water bowl

Ben_Renick Jul 10, 2005 08:16 PM

Well recently I noticed that my Green hasn't been soaking a lot, he gets in the water bowl and then gets out about 30 minutes later. His appetite has died down some too. Well anyways, when I clean out his water bowl there are all sorts of white things in the water, it almost looks like there is sperm all over in the water. It very well could be that also, but I'm a little worried it might be a parasite? It's not worms, he is not deficating and I'm seeing them, not peeing either. I'm going to get him a vet apt. this week for a check up, but does anyone know what this might be? His temperment isn't bad or anything either, so it's kind of weird for me.
Thanks,
Ben

` I'd get a strong hand lens, or a jeweler's loupe, and see just exactly what the 'white things' are.

` Once a month, I screw a jeweler's loupe into my eye and go over all of my snakes, checking the skin, eyes, mouth, nares, and cloaca carefully. I've found many problems early, over the years. It has saved lots of trouble. If you let people watch you do it, they'll think you're insane. It can take a while to go over a 14 foot Anaconda. I do it when they're cool, so a little less squirming.
` Anytime I see anything unidentified in their environment, I find out what it is.
