Interested in maybe getting a lizard...looking for certain qualities....

Hi everyone...i've never owned a lizard, just kept snakes and turtles. Kinda lookin into gettin a lizard after i get outta basic. what kind of lizard makes a good beginner? i've heard the leopard geckos make good beginners, but i like something with a lil uniqueness...my half-brained bio teacher kept a leo in the classroom...how it survived with his poor care i still dont know, but i was wondering if there were ne lizards that "bond" with you. that might sound goofy but, im looking for something that likes attention, i guess in the same sense as a dog...i just thought it would be cool to have a lizard that would prefer to be held rather than be in his cage. any opinions would be appreciated. thanks.

Id say a blue tongue skink would fit into that category...Most are very handlable. They are a good beginner lizard that are often overlooked. Check out the link for the best site on these great lizards.
