I used perlite instead of vermiculite for the incubation medium. I prefer perlite because I find it doesn't stay "wet" for long periods of time like vermiculite does. I haven't had to add much water to it throughout incubation.
The incubator was a store-bought Hovabator (without the turbofan). I didn't have time to attempt an improvised homemade incubator, nor did I want to. I was afraid of too much temperature variation which could be potentially fatal for the eggs.
I am attempting to feed them now (they're not hungry yet though) and yes, I am going to feed adult feces to the little ones. It doesn't matter if the adult is male or female, as long as it is healthy and hasn't been treated with any medication recently.
I still have one more egg to go and it is quite a bit larger than the other two were. By candling, I can see the baby inside is the same size as the other two right now. The yolk hasn't been absorbed yet (the egg has shown no signs of collapse yet), so I suspect this one will take a while longer (a week or more maybe). He might even wind up being bigger than the other two.
I hope this helps
