stage9 Jul 11, 2005 09:41 AM

yesterday i purchased a hatchling okeetee corn from the white plains ny expo. lastnight he managed to escape his tank, but i did find himm - under the tank by the heating pad. he appears to be alrightm, but he has a bit of the adhesive from the heat pad on him. i do not know if i should attempt to clean him, or just wait till he sheds. any advice?

If it was an adult, I would recomend goo-b-gone or some other adhesive remover, but babies are far more suseptible to absorbing lethal amounts of chemicals through there skin. Considering that a baby corn can shed on a monthly basis when growing well, I would just let him shed it off. You might have to assist him with a soak and some rubbing if he starts to shed and doesn't complete it. For now I would apply a powder like flour, to render it less sticky.

that would be safe, make sure you rinse him well afterwards, let me know if it works.
