Growth Graph for Sulcata and Redfoot over 9 months

zhiv9 Jul 15, 2003 02:27 PM

Here is a growth graph of the weight of my Sulcata and Redfoot since I started to weight them last november(when I got the sulcata). They were weighed with a digital scale acurate to 1 gram. The weights(y-axis) are in grams. Just wondering if anyone has results to compare to or any comments.

Thanks

How old is your Redfoot at 240 grams? Mine is 1 year old
and is 170 grams.

Thanks
Linda

I don't know for sure how old she was, approx 1.5 to 2 years. She had one owner that sold her to the pet shop I bought her from, they didn't know how old she was. I know she was malnurished because she had a soft spot on the top back of her shell. With a good diet and an UVB mercury vapour bulb, the spot has hardened up nicely, but i think she will always have mark.

He doesn't have the right address down for the chart.
After identifying it, I copied it onto my own server.
My husband's better able to figure out what everybody
seems to do wrong with this, I think they're copying
the site, but not the address of the actual image.
They can see it themselves because it's on their
hard drive, that's why.

when he was little, gaining approx 2 grams per day.
By the way, he was not eating Mazuri until he was
1 1/2 years old, so don't try to attribute that to anything.

I was wondering what the total number of days are along the x-axis.

I'll also try to find a better server, that everyone can see

was from Oct. 99 to July 2001. (approx 4 pounds.)

By the fall of 2001 he was already 7 pounds and now is a
45 pound moose.

The graph is interesting because it does show steady continuous
weight gain of right at 2 grams per day for a long long time.
Then he exploded into godzilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
argggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol!

So I could technically babble that a sulcata could be tiny for
2-3 years and brag as an owner that I have a hatchling I'm
keeping in a 10 gallon tank, and suddenly he explodes out of that
like the Hulk and overturns furniture and crashes his way through
the walls and heads outside at will. Actually I think they
grow much better outside - nothing compares to the sunshine.
Teddy started in a 300 gallon tank and if I could raise him again
from a youngster I would have feed less greens, more hay and
kept him out more - that was possible when we moved here 2 years
ago, now he's outside 24/7.

Can anyone still see these images? All I see is a red X.

Over the same periode (Nov. 2002 - July 2003) my girl went from 315 g to 380 g. She has a SCL of 125 mm and is 3 years and 4 months old now.
I also weigh and measure my two hatchlings every week, but it will take a while, until this graph will become interesting.
