Brett, good luck with the NP! went out to Livermore again last night removed a BIG female NP off the road & moved it down away from the ATV park -there were 3 others already hit by cars by the time we found them.

I have been working on the range of pyrrhus and stephensii. Where in the Lucerne valley did you find this guy? Your input would help me a lot. Thank you.
crossing Rabbits Springs Road about a 1/4 mile up from hwy 18 right where the spot with rock cropping on both sides of the road-
also seen one that someone had killed before we got there(cut its head off) a few weeks earlier on hwy 247 near millberry st
hope that helps

Thank you very much for that info. I am trying to define the western most region of phyrrhus and the intergrade area with stephensii. Your picture shows what looks like a pure pyrrhus. I have found them up to Barstow. I have not found what I would consider an intergrade with stephensii. I think that they are just farther north than Barstow. I live around Phelan and have not ever seen any mitchelli in my area. So I am curious as to how far west of Apple Valley they are. Thanks again.
no problem, hoped the info helped
