Dutchess...er, Sassenach is home!

jamiesbeardie Jul 11, 2005 11:08 AM

We got home yesterday after driving 11 hours on the road from California to Arizona with 4 dragons, three kids (3,6 &9)and one bald headed, red goateed husband. LOL We made it and now I've offically renamed my rescue dragon from Dutchess to Sassenach. Sassenach is a gaelic word, meaning outsider. For those still confused, gaelic is the language used by Scottish/Irish people when they had a language of their own. So, my Sassenach is finally home and adjusting. Just wanted to share the good news.

Awesome! 4 dragons, 3 kids and a husband?? lol, you're braver than me! I'm very familiar with gaelic, being Celtic Wiccan, and i LOVE the name! Good luck!

When I was in California, mu hubby and I went to an Irish pub and I told him he'd fit right in. Like I said he shaves his head bald and has a bright red goatee that is roughly 6 inches long. He has earrings in both ears and a light dusting of freckles beneath his tanned skin. His eyes are startling blue. Yeah....he did fit right in. I have dark hair and blue eyes, but I'm mostly Scottish and irish, just the darker version. Yeah, I love the name too....LOL

Very nice name. I planned on looking for a celtic name for the baby I'm going to keep once I find out if its a boy or girl. Its nice to see people not going with typical names since they're so over used in the first place. I hope you had fun while you were over here in the heat. Frankly the only thing good about Ca for me is that I got my herps after got here lol but I'm way up north for the next two years until we move again. In two years we'll be driving to where ever with 3 leopard geckos 3 beardies two dogs and a parrot so I know what you mean about it being a long drive since we just made a two day drive a few months ago with my german shorthaired pointer and my parrot.
